This eating lifestyle sort of describes my last 40 years. I do a lot of justifying why I eat what I do. Somehow I explain the variety of basically unhealthy foods as making me more worldly and able to converse on diverse gastronomic topics.
I keep telling people I'll go anywhere with you to see whatever it is you want to see, just make sure there's a good restaurant for me to try when we're done. And I also use pie as an excuse to have fruit!! I feel like I'm in such good company.
I was fortunate enough to attend culinary school ten years ago. While my spine health doesn't allow me to work in the culinary field, I am forever thankful for the knowledge of flavors and the confidence to experiment in the kitchen.
I contracted covid in November. My palate has not returned to it's previous glorious state. My spine health has deteriorated to the point that it's difficult to experiment much. But, I look forward to the day I can taste the nuances again.
I have so many ideas to experiment with. Maybe this years Gish week will give me the chance. My sixth year participating.
Hey, pie is the best! Ask "Dean". But seriously, just having an interest in cooking is fantastic.
I love to cook and you get to control what you put in your food. Healthy or decadent it makes you feel so good and eating your "just desserts" is wonderful! You go girl!
